Erana Kratounis is a New Media artist who lives and works in New York City. With a mix of 'nature' intelligence, a devotion to animism and panpsychism, and a love of technology –
she offers digital explorations of the essences just beyond perception.
Born in New York City, Erana grew up bereft of nature, which paradoxically drew her lifelong imaginings towards it. Inspired by ALL fellow earthlings, the cycles and processes of nature, the changing of seasons, physics and metaphysics, earth religions, ancient knowledge, color and sound, Erana’s work is imbued with the same meditative quality as stepping into nature itself - transporting the viewer into the 'present.' Take a moment, breathe it in, the veil of separateness thins.
Dedicated to exploring the intersections of technology, nature, and spirituality, and engaging viewer on a multi-sensory level, Erana's work has been part of several physical and virtual exhibitions including: Buckminster Fuller Institute: Regenaissance - Art in Miami Week, as part of Art Basel 2021; Information Technology Projects, NYC 2018-22; The School for Poetic Computation, NYC 2019; New Art City (virtual) 2022, Design Science Studio: Dissolve & Bloom (virtual) 2022, Invisible/Visible (virtual) 2022, Regen•era Rising (virtual) 2022.
